Following an extensive career in Health and Fitness, predominantly in the hospitality sector, Simon Webster has recently taken a new direction in supporting corporate wellbeing and The Wellbeing Coaches Podcast.

The sixth Podcast in The Wellbeing Coaches series is an interview with our very own Chairman, Mimi McCord.  They discuss the tragic death of Mimi’s husband, Michael, which led her to launch the Heartburn Cancer UK charity and they talk about the amazing work that has been achieved since then.

Simon is a real advocate of keeping in tune with your body and asking why when something doesn’t feel quite right.  We know that persistent heartburn is a symptom suffered by so many men and women across the UK and people are self-medicating with over-the-counter antacids and PPI’s (Proton Pump Inhibitors such as Lansoprazole and Omeprazole).

We all know that if you suffer with a cough for more than 3 weeks or notice changes to our poo that we should get it checked but it is not commonly known that persistent and frequent heartburn for more than 3 weeks could be a sign of something more serious.

Along with Simon at The Wellbeing Coaches we strive to continually raise awareness of the risks of this seemingly insignificant symptom and ask people to get in touch with their GP if they are suffering.
