Heartburn Cancer UK are involved in a research study. The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded study is looking for patients who have been diagnosed with oesophageal cancer to take part in two workshops.  The workshops will be online and are on the 6th and 20th October from 2pm - 5pm.

What's the aim of this study?

The aim of this study is to look at how accurate endoscopy, a flexible tube with a camera to examine the oesophagus (food pipe or gullet) and stomach, is in finding cancer and to develop measures of endoscopy performance that help to reduce the risk of not finding early signs of a cancer at endoscopy.

What will the public health benefits be?

This study will identify differences in endoscopy practice across the country and will provide the tools to improve the standard of endoscopy in the UK and the care patients with UGI cancer receive.

What will your involvement be?

Interested patients will need to take part in two half day online workshops with other patients and clinical experts.
