Persimmon Homes support HCUK for a second year We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Persimmon Homes Community Champions Scheme who have generously chosen to support HCUK for a second year running with a donation of £1000. Previous funding from the scheme helped us purchase the mobile diagnostic unit that has facilitated our pilot study using The Cytosponge in primary care. This community-based pilot project will screen at least 1000 more people by mid 2022 and will change lives by increasing early diagnosis. 13% of those screened to date have been referred for further investigation and, if required, will receive ongoing surveillance that could be life-saving. We are working to extend the availability of The Cytosponge to a wider geographical area and will use this donation to support this project and to extend and broaden the support and information we are able to provide to those who contact us with concerns. Donations such as this have a hugely positive impact on our work and our ability to change outcomes for those with oesophageal cancer. From us all at HCUK and from our community - Thank you.
