Launching the HCUK online support group It is really important to us at Heartburn Cancer UK that we can reach as many of those affected by Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal cancer as possible. We are often in touch with people who have questions about day to day life with these conditions and who feel that having somebody to chat to who understands, makes a positive difference. It is for this reason that we encourage support groups who meet in certain locations to provide support, friendship and to share experiences and information. However, 2020 hasn’t made meeting up very easy and has prompted us to expand our support to include an online group so that we can reach more people, in lots of locations and bring people together despite the difficult global situation. The group is a closed, monitored Facebook group which will welcome anyone who has Barrett’s oesophagus, oesophageal cancer or whose lives or loved ones are affected by these conditions. We have only just started the group so at the moment it's small. Our plan is to let people know about it so it can grow to become a thriving online community of people all over the UK who can help and support each other. A place to raise questions and have discussions in a safe environment with people who share similar experiences. As with most groups there are a few friendly rules and a couple of simple questions to answer when you join. After that we hope that you can make it your own. If this would be of interest to you then please do take a look. We are a very friendly bunch and we look forward to welcoming you. If you are new to Facebook you could follow our Step by Step guide or feel free to please just ask for help. Manage Cookie Preferences
