We are really excited to introduce Sarah, who who will be supporting the team at Heartburn Cancer UK when we need her expertise on diet and lifestyle.  She will be providing you (and us) helpful information for those living with persistent heartburn, Barrett's or oesophageal cancer.  She is a great addition to our team and we are thrilled to have her expert input.

Here is what Sarah has to say about working with HCUK.Sarah - our dietitian in residence

"Since 2015 I have been working at Southampton General Hospital as a Dietitian specialising in working with patients with oesophageal and stomach cancer. I am fortunate to be able to help support patients from the point of diagnosis throughout oncological treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and following surgery.

I have recently completed a Masters’ degree in clinical and health research and hope to undertake more research in the future with the aim of improving nutritional outcomes for patients with oesophageal cancer.

I am looking forward to working with Heartburn Cancer UK to help develop dietary information and resources for people living with persistent heartburn, Barrett’s oesophagus or oesophageal cancer.

Outside of work I enjoy cooking, particularly baking, sport and travelling when I can!"

Look out for Sarah's advice on our Diet and Lifestyle page and on our social media platforms.
