As Christmas draws nearer we have been thinking about ways to involve you, our valued supporters, in raising awareness this festive season.

As we gather with friends and family to enjoy delicious food and perhaps even a little tipple it is the perfect time for us all to think about whether reflux is something that affects us or a loved one.  If it’s something you notice in yourself or someone you know, and if you need to take over the counter medication after the celebrations have finished then you should see your doctor.

You can get involved through one of the simple methods listed below to help us raise vital funds, awareness and perhaps honour the memory of a loved one sadly lost to oesophageal cancer.

Join in with the HCUK Virtual Santa Dash

Grab some family, friends, children and even the dog and run, walk, cycle or scoot 5k.

Wear a Santa hat if you like (or a full costume if it takes your fancy).  Raise awareness and any sponsorship that you can by setting up an online page and make sure to send us some photos too!  You can pick any date during December to suit you and all fully registered participants will receive this fab medal in the post.

For more information or to enter visit our event page.

Christmas Cards

If (Like us) you haven’t even thought about buying Christmas cards yet we may have just ticked a job off your list.

Buy our beautifully designed and printed cards directly from our online shop at just £5 (plus p&p) for packs of 10.  100% of the proceeds of your purchase will support our work and each card has an explanation of our mission on the back – so you will be raising awareness, donating to HCUK and wishing your loved ones a Happy Christmas!

Celebrating the lives of those we have lost

We are dedicated to raising awareness, increasing early diagnosis and improving the outlook for those with oesophageal cancer, but we are reminded daily that there are thousands of people each year who have lost loved ones to this condition and we know that Christmas can be a particularly difficult and lonely time.

We wanted to create a place that you can celebrate and honour the life of a loved one this Christmas, simply by leaving a message or a photo on our celebration page, which we hope will become a place of reflection and treasured memories.

As always, we thank you for your ongoing support.  The work that we do simply couldn’t happen without your continued involvement and generosity.  Please do get in touch with any questions and we will do our best to help.
