Around 8,000 people die from oesophageal cancer each year in the UK. That’s 22 people every single day, but you can help us change this by taking part in The Big Step Challenge.

The Challenge

We would like you to take 8,000 steps every day during the month of July. You can walk, run, skip, play golf, pop to the shops, it doesn’t matter; every step counts and every step makes a difference.

Your support will enable us to help more people living with oesophageal cancer or Barrett’s oesophagus; to raise more awareness of the early symptoms of these conditions; to increase rates of early diagnosis and ultimately, save lives.

Taking Part

There is no fundraising target, just click the "Book" button below to be taken to our registration page.  Once you have entered set up a fundraising page online and share it with friends and family – encourage them to take part too and raise whatever amount you can.

Your registration fee includes a Big Step Challenge medal which will be posted to you on completion of your challenge.

Use any fitness tracker to record your steps each day during the month of July and at the end of the challenge e mail a record to our partners at Run for Charity. Then just wait to receive your medal in the post.

8000 steps a day, one for every life lost – to help us change the future and save lives.
