Week 7

Came through the Cairngorms and into Inverness, where some valiant walkers joined me for a day or so and cheered me on towards the final stretch. Highlight of this week was the first sighting of John o’ Groats itself (admittedly on a road sign, but the end suddenly seems in sight)!

PS: amazingly, I’ve had to increase the fundraising target yet again – thank you all so much! I’ve now changed it to £27,125 which, together with the £2,875 that has been raised off the website, would bring the total to a staggering £30,000. Can’t quite believe that we’ve nearly tripled the initial target!

Persistent heartburn

LINACRE Trial

The Oxford Clinical Trials Unit are applying for funding for an exciting new clinical trial for patients with Barrett’s Oesophagus. Recruited patients will be randomly selected to either continue with life long medication or have a device, called a LINX, fitted at the base of the oesophagus to reduce the symptoms associated with Barrett's.
